  • my new year revolution

Last year I had many idols in my heart and I did not realized how much I hurt Him until I was hurt in the same way. Therefore, my new year revolution is to function as what God intends me to be. C.S Lewis observed, "The more we let God take us over, the more truly ourselves we become - because he made us. He invented all the different people that you and I were intended to be.... It is when I turn to Christ, when I give up myself to His personality, that I first begin to have a real personality of my own."

This old song reminded me a lot. I should seek Him first. If something belongs to me , then it will belong to me sometime in my life. He knows much better what I need.  Don't be desperate for something because it will decrease my attention and my love to God.

    Seek Ye First - Matthew 6:33, 4:4, 7:7

Seek ye first the kingdom of God
    And His righteousness,
And all these things shall be added unto you.
    Hallelu! Hallelujah!

Man shall not live by bread alone,
    But by every word
That proceeds from the mouth of God.
    Hallelu! hallelujah!

Ask and it shall be given unto you.
    Seel and ye shall find.
Knock and the door shall be opened unto you.
    Hallelu! hallelujah!

  • Personality test

Going back to the last semester, one of my professors required his students to take a free online test to get to know their personalities. The test was very very long and I did not know how much time I spent on it. However, I thought the result was very accurate (compared to other tests I took before). I later found another site for the description and I believe the link below best described my type. I would rate the accuracy of 99.9 % (at least for my type) if I could do so. It described all my strengths and weaknesses, and the areas that I needed to improve and to be more aware of.  One drawback was that it did describe the career for the types well. Don't look at that. I was INFP.

  • Five Finger Prayer

My friend just sent me the info of "5 finger prayer." Yes, I think we need to make the 5 finger prayer a part of our lives. See below:

This is so neat. I had never heard this before. This is beautiful - and it is surely worth making the 5 finger prayer a part of our lives.

    1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a 'sweet duty.'

    2. The
next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and minist ers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

    3. The
next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

    4. The
fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

    5. And lastly comes our
little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you.' Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

Don't tell God how big your storm is, tell the storm how big your God is!!!!!

  • Cheer up! Fancy

I did not post anything for a long time but I did not forget my blog. I had to admit that I went through some difficulties that most people needed to go through sometimes in their lives. Compared to my childhood,  nothing will be worse. Thanks for my friends' comfort and encouragement. I felt hurt but I knew the fact that I would survive like other people.

Thank God for healing me. The difficulties will remind what I've learned and I will be stronger, maturer and wiser. I knew that  "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. "  Romans 8:28.

I remember when Jesus was hanging on the cross, He said, "They know not what they do." I realized how difficult to bear the cross and say that at the same time. Even though He felt so painful in His heart and body, He did not mention about His pain and still consider other people by asking God to forgive them. As a Christian, I know I need to bear the cross and say the same thing, too.

  • Devotion

I just finished my devetion today and I wanted to share some of the Bible verses.

Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have my law in your hearts: Do not fear the reproach of men or be terrified by their insults. For the moth will eat them up like a garment; the worm will devour them like wool. But my righteousness will last forever, my salvation through all generations."   Isaiah 51:7-8

    "知道公義、將我訓誨存在心中的民、要聽我言不要怕人的辱罵、也不要因人的毀謗驚惶. 因為蛀蟲必咬他們、好像咬衣服、蟲子必咬他們、如同咬羊絨.惟有我的公義永遠長存.我的救恩直到萬代."   以賽亞書 51:7-8

"I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mortal men, the sons of men, who are but grass, that you forget the LORD your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth, that you live in constant terror every day because of the wrath of the oppressor, who is bent on destruction? For where is the wrath of the oppressor? "    Isaiah 51:12-13

    "惟有我、是安慰你們的.你是誰、竟怕那必死的人、怕那要變如草的世人.卻忘記鋪張諸天、立定地基、創造你的耶和華.又因欺壓者圖謀毀滅要發的暴怒、整天害怕.其實那欺壓者的暴怒在那裡呢?"  以賽亞書 51:12-13
